What should I send with a driveway enquiry?

Short answer

Send the location, approximate area, intended use and any plans or photos you have. Mention where vehicles enter and anything unusual about access. Discuss the site and the work you need with BaseUp for advice about your enquiry.

Reading note

An enquiry can begin with incomplete information. Mark estimates as estimates and include anything you know about the current surface.

Concrete driveway leading to a residential garage.

Guidance, not a specification

Concrete driveway leading to a residential garage.
Concrete access area alongside a residential building.
Concrete access area passing through a gate towards a shed.
Before numbers

Describe the use, not only the size.

An approximate measurement helps identify the area, but it does not describe how you need to use it. Explain the entry, the vehicles or equipment involved and whether you are asking about a driveway or a working area.

Do not assume

No price formula here.

A general guide cannot price your site. Discuss the project requirements and preparation work directly with BaseUp before setting a budget. Decorative concrete is outside BaseUp’s scope.

For your first enquiry

A useful first note.

You do not need to resolve every site question before making contact. Separate observed conditions from assumptions.

01

Property

Address or general location, with the proposed area marked on a plan or photo if available.

02

Area

Approximate length and width, where the entry starts, and what surface is there now.

03

Use

Who or what will use the space: vehicles, equipment, access or another stated purpose.

04

Constraints

Known obstacles, slopes, existing structures or access limits shown in your documents or visible on site.

Before work begins

Questions worth asking directly.

These questions help you describe the work clearly before discussing a quote.

  1. 01

What part of the area is in the request?

Mark the start and end of the proposed work, including how it meets existing surfaces.

  2. 02

    What information is still missing?

Identify which measurements, documents or site details need confirmation.

  3. 03

    Is groundwork being considered separately?

Say what is already in place and ask how any earthmoving enquiry should be described.

Common questions

Quick answers.

What should I send first?
The location, approximate area, how it will be used, where vehicles enter, and any plans or photos. Mark estimates as estimates.
Can you give a price from a guide?
No. A general guide cannot price your site. The details of the area, the preparation and the requested work are discussed with BaseUp directly.
Is decorative concrete available?
Decorative concrete is outside BaseUp’s scope. Ask if you are unsure whether your job fits.
Is groundwork part of a driveway enquiry?
Say what the ground is like now and whether earthmoving is wanted. It is discussed as part of the scope, not assumed.
Can I share photos online?
The website form records file names only. Call 0402 665 994 to arrange sharing the photos or plans themselves.
