What information helps with a shed slab enquiry?
Prepare a photo of the proposed area, ideally marked with its size and shape, plus length and width, site access and road frontage. Include levels if available, known service locations and whether earthworks, imported material or spoil removal are involved. The supplied details help BaseUp prepare an estimate; if that estimate is accepted, a site visit follows before a firm quotation is sent.
A stand-alone slab and a complete shed package are different enquiries. Tell us which you need so the right work can be discussed.

Guidance, not a specification

Estimate first. Site visit next.
BaseUp prepares an initial estimate based on the information supplied. If you accept the estimate, a site visit follows before a firm quotation is sent. The estimate and quotation are separate stages, so photos and measurements are a starting point rather than a final price.
Plans and scope need clear boundaries.
Plans usually come from an architect, draftsperson or shed supplier. Share the drawings you have and confirm who is responsible for engineering and approvals on your project. Industrial-sized concreting and decorative concrete are outside BaseUp’s scope.
Put these in the first message.
It is fine to say “not known yet”. A useful enquiry distinguishes what is supplied from what still needs an answer.
A marked-up photo
Photograph the proposed area. Use your phone’s markup tool to show the intended shape and size, rather than leaving BaseUp to infer the work area.
Dimensions and use
Give the length and width and say what the shed will be used for. Mark estimated measurements as estimates.
Location and access
Include the site location, how the work area can be reached and the road frontage.
Available levels
Send levels if you already have them, and say when they are unavailable.
Plans or drawings
Share any available plans from the architect, draftsperson or shed supplier and identify what is still missing.
Known services
Include information you already have about underground services, sewerage, stormwater and electrical locations. Flag unknown locations rather than guessing; this checklist is not a service-locating instruction.
Earthworks and material
Say whether earthworks are involved, whether dirt needs to be moved or brought in, and whether you want spoil removed from the site.
The enquiry type
Be clear whether you want a stand-alone slab or a complete shed package. The existing shed slab service page is for stand-alone enquiries.
Questions to settle before scope is agreed.
Discuss the estimate, design requirements and package responsibilities separately so each part of your project is clear.
- 01
Who is supplying the slab requirements?
Identify which drawings or instructions the work is to be discussed against, and what is still undecided.
- 02
What material movement is being requested?
Tell BaseUp whether dirt needs to move, be brought in or leave the site. Do not assume spoil removal is included without discussing it.
- 03
Where does the slab enquiry stop?
Separate earthmoving, the concrete slab and any shed supply or installation in the requested scope.
Looking for a complete shed package?
This guide is about information for a stand-alone slab enquiry. BaseUp Sheds is the related business for a complete shed package.
Quick answers.
- Do I need every detail before I enquire?
- No. Send what you have and say “not known yet” for the rest. A clear list of what is missing is more useful than a guess.
- Is the first figure a final price?
- No. BaseUp prepares an estimate from the information supplied. If you accept it, a site visit follows and then a firm quotation.
- Can I attach photos and plans on the website form?
- The form only records the names of selected files; the files themselves are not sent. Call 0402 665 994 to arrange how to share photos and plans.
- Is a complete shed package the same enquiry?
- No. This guide is for stand-alone slab enquiries. For a complete shed package, see BaseUp Sheds, the related business.
- What work is outside the scope?
- Industrial-sized concreting and decorative concrete are outside BaseUp’s scope.
